True North Training bridges the gap between physical therapy and traditional fitness as well as personal training and larger group classes. Founded by nurses and nurse practitioners, our programs are designed with safety, progression, and long-term health in mind. We specialize in foundational strength training that is accessible, adaptable, and supportive. We discuss your personal goals and tailor our programming specifically to help you meet these ambitions.
We don’t chase intensity or extremes. Instead, we focus on consistency, confidence, and building strength you can trust for life.
-
Our programs are ideal for:
Beginners new to strength training
Individuals returning after injury or time away
Those seeking a supportive, non-intimidating environment
Anyone who wants to build sustainable strength habits
You don’t need prior experience—just a willingness to start where you are.
-
We use 6-week cycles to support consistency and meaningful progress.
This structure allows time to:
Build habits and confidence
Learn proper form and movement patterns
Progress intentionally without rushing
A clear cycle also creates accountability while still allowing flexibility for real life.
-
Placement is based on experience, comfort with movement, and individual needs—not athletic background. We are available to help guide you to the level that best supports you, and movement between levels is flexible.
Strength is not linear, and it’s always okay to start—or return—where it feels right.
-
Small groups allow us to combine individualized coaching with community support.
With 2–4 participants per group, you’ll receive personalized guidance and modifications while benefiting from accountability and shared momentum. This model offers more attention than large group classes and more affordability than one-on-one training.

-Refine: tailored specifically to YOU and your goals
-Reset: cool down and stretch

No. Our focus is intentional, progressive strength training—not high-intensity or fast-paced workouts. That said, programs are designed to challenge you appropriately based on your level, goals, and readiness.

Many of our clients come to us during or after physical therapy. We collaborate with physical therapists and prioritize safe, adaptable programming. Every session includes individualized modifications, and we encourage open communication so training always feels appropriate and supportive.
-
We understand that life happens. While sessions are not transferable between cycles, our structured programming and small-group format allow you to rejoin confidently even if you miss a week. Consistency—not perfection—is our priority. Reach out and we can try to find a way to make up a session.
